10 years from the filing date, and every 7 years thereafter;

There is a 6 month grace period available.

Use Provisions

A trade mark may be removed from the register if it has not been used in respect of the goods and services for which it is registered for a continuous period of 3 years.  However, such an action can only be brought after the expiry of an initial period of 5 years from the date of filing of the trade mark application.

Renewal

Following the promulgation of the current law, annuities are payable annually commencing on the first anniversary of the filing date of a patent application.  A grace period of six months is provided for the late payment of annuities, along with a surcharge.

For (historic) reregistration applications, and whilst there are no specific guidelines, we presume that the “filing date” from which renewal due dates are calculated is the UK filing date, and not the local filing date.
