10 years from the filing date, and every 10 years thereafter;
There is a 6 month grace period.

Use Provisions

Non-use of a trade mark for a period of 3 years from registration renders it vulnerable to an action for cancellation by third parties.

International Arrangements

Notwithstanding that Grenada is the party to the Paris Convention, we understand that Convention priority cannot be claimed because the necessary Implementing Regulations which will allow for the same have not yet been promulgated.

Duration

Substantive (local) patents are valid for a period of 14 years from the local filing date;
PCT patents are valid for a period of 20 years from the international filing date;
Re-registration patents are valid for a period of 20 years from the corresponding EP(UK) parent filing date.

Renewal

The law requires that renewal fees are paid annually in respect of substantive (local) patent cases, commencing on the 4th anniversary of the filing date.  However, such payments are not currently being collected by the Registry, pending the promulgation of the relevant Implementing Regulations.
