It is not possible to register services in the Bahamas.

International Arrangements

Convention priority can be claimed.

Renewal

14 years from the filing date, and every 14 years thereafter;
No grace period is specified, and the Registrar may remove any trade mark from the register 1 month after advertisement of the non-renewal.

Use Provisions

Non-use of a trade mark for a period of 5 years from registration renders it vulnerable to an action for cancellation by third parties.

International Arrangements

Convention priority can be claimed, but many applicants avoid doing so in order to avoid the risk of publication occurring earlier than 18 months from what would have been the earliest priority date, where this would affect the novelty of applications filed in other countries.  Such applicants tend to favour filing non-Convention applications at around the 17 month date from what would have been the earliest priority date.

Duration

16 years from the filing date.

Renewal

Renewal fees are due for payment annually, starting before the expiration of the 4th anniversary of the filing date;
There is a 6 month grace period available.
