Annuities |
Annuities are payable only after the grant of a patent. The first annuity becomes payable for the third year from grant but should be paid 12 months ahead of the due date. Subsequent annuities are payable annually thereafter, on or before the specific due date, until the end of the 20 year term of the patent although, if the Patentee wishes, the whole or any portion of the aggregate of the prescribed annual fees may be paid in advance.
A non-extendable grace period of 6 months is allowed for late payment of any annuities, on payment of the prescribed surcharge of the fee due. |
