Renewal fees in Mongolia are payable at intervals of several years for certain fixed block periods calculated from the local filing date, as follows:
1. 1st - 3rd years 2. 4th - 6th years 3. 7th - 10th years 4. 11th - 15th years 5. 16th - 20th years
The fee for each block period must be paid in advance. The fee for the first three years falls due within 6 months from the grant date, and this fee is normally paid along with the grant fee. The fees for the subsequent periods must be paid during the six months prior to the commencement of those periods. A six-month period of grace is available for late payment of renewal fees, with a 100% surcharge. |

Renewal | Although Article 25 of the Patent Law of Mongolia, which refers to renewal payments, only mentions patents, it appears that fees are also payable for registered designs - therefore, by implication, renewal fees are payable for block periods calculated from the local filing date as specified above for patents, up to the expiry of the 10-year term of a design |
